Samir Abhyankar is a Partner and Head (India) at Lightrock. He is responsible for scaling the group’s India operations into a strategic hub for regional capital deployment and value creation. In his previous role, he led the Financial Services Group and headed Direct Private Equity at British International Investment.

Samir has over 25 years of global investing experience, having overseen investments across Africa and Asia exceeding US$1 billion annually. He began his career at the World Bank and has held senior positions, including Partner at TPG Rise and TPG Growth, as well as roles at Satya Capital and Citi Venture Capital International. His leadership and extensive experience will be instrumental in identifying new strategic investment opportunities and building Lightrock’s presence in a critical market.

Samir holds an MBA from INSEAD and a Master’s from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.
